Jessika Kreps Foster - founder of polkafolk studio

By painting Australian flora & fauna
Jessika is exploring, getting to know & connecting to her new home, new land, latruwita- Tasmnia.

Growing up on a Flower Farm on the outskirts of historical city in Poland made her appreciate two worlds that she combines in her practice:
the natural world &
the charm of heritage and history
.
After years of search she moved to a place she felt intangible connection with - nipaluna -Hobart.
Her illustrations are a way to express herself by offering you a piece of something magical:

“My aim is to give my audience a sense of calm, promt to search for balance.
It’s my little detail that is taking you on a journey - inviting to be more observant, curious and feeling like we are a part of this world.”

In her South Hobart studio Jessika is exploring compositions on the connection between native australian flora, fauna & us - human beings, capturing on paper the feeling of a spiritual connection to nature - the sky, topics on self- development and growth.

With warm and earthy tones, little symbols, details and movement she creates a meditative & magical feel to her watercolour illustrations.
